Newton joins forces with Scotland’s leading waterproofing contractor Richardson and Starling

This new partnership will see us substantially improving on our existing waterproofing systems and service levels across Scotland and the North of England. Richardson and Starling’s success in the industry since 1935 has already resulted in eleven branches in Scotland, one in Cumbria, and twenty-five experienced CSSWs (Certified Surveyors in Structural Waterproofing) who work with our clients to deliver bespoke waterproofing solutions.

Creating Strength and Depth

As the first company to introduce the concept of an approved contractor scheme in the waterproofing industry, Newton Waterproofing Systems always selectively picks the members of its Newton Specialist Basement Contractor (NSBC) network.

As well as meeting the stringent entry requirements, contractors must also participate in continuous training in order to maintain the high standards of product knowledge and installation.

Considering these prerequisites, very few new contractors have been added to the NSBC network in recent years – Scottish and North of England contractor Richardson & Starling however, break this mould by meeting and exceeding all of the requirements set before them.

As a result, Richardson & Starling Managing Director Graham Duncan is anticipating the benefits of the new status,

Our success in the industry since 1935 has already resulted in eleven branches in Scotland, one in Cumbria, and twenty-five experienced CSSWs (Certified Surveyors in Structural Waterproofing) who work with our clients to deliver bespoke waterproofing solutions. Now, however, as part of the NSBC network, we will also gain access to a great depth of knowledge and experience, a huge range of products, and, as a result, the ability to deliver complete solutions to any type of project, of any size.”
The new partnership is mutually beneficial for both companies too, as Managing Director of Newton Waterproofing Systems, Warren Muschialli, explains,

Their new status will mean that we now have complete contractor coverage across Scotland and the North of England for all forms of waterproofing on all structures. More than that though, is the fact that both companies share an ethos geared towards high quality specification and installation, which is what will give specifiers, main contractors and clients the confidence that they are working with true waterproofing experts who also have combined experience spanning over 240 years.”

The combination of bespoke waterproofing design and specialist installation is the key to truly successful waterproofing projects, and is one of the significant benefits of the NSBC scheme.

By working and communicating closely together, Newton Waterproofing and Richardson & Starling will be able to take clients right the way through from initial designs to the final project conclusion, not only by acting as waterproofing design specialists as an integral part of the design team, but also by taking on the Professional Indemnity on the design, performing expert installations, and providing guarantees for the work.
