We have purchased a 40-foot shipping container, in which all our office and warehouse packaging waste is collected, before it is then sent off to be separated and recycled.

During 2018, we recycled over 5 tonnes of paper, plastic film and cardboard and we are actively reducing the amount of waste we produce in order to reduce this amount to 3 tonnes per year in 2021.

Introducing this initiative has increased the awareness of our own environmental impact within our employees, who all now actively look at other ways to improve our corporate processes. As such, Newton employees are now more conscious of reducing their personal plastic waste and are contributing to the increase in recycling cardboard and plastic film in the office and warehouse. Many employees are reducing their waste in their personal lives in a variety of ways, from switching to zero waste shampoo bars, purchasing ethically sourced products in their home environments and even purchasing hybrid cars.

Our environmental commitment is recognised by our ISO 14001 certificate, which sets out the criteria for our environmental management systems and provides assurance to the whole company and employees as well as external stakeholders that our environmental impact is being measured and improved.
