This property in a small Cotswolds village suffered regular flooding and prolonged power outage. The combination of the Newton Victron Quattro Inverter and Generator System gives unlimited power during prolonged power outages, so the basement stays dry. The Project

This village in the Cotswolds suffers from weekly power cuts, and when combined with severe weather patterns, flooding is frequent. A contractor inadequately installed the previous waterproofing system in this property, and it could not cope with the volume of water during the power outage. As a result flood damage was a major problem.

Newton Specialist Basement Contractor Guardian Preservation were commissioned to provide a specification for a pumping system that would cope with high volumes of water during a power outage.

The Solution

The Victron Quattro Inverter was chosen to provide pumping during power interruption. It works by inverting 12V DC power from a battery (or multiple batteries) to clean and efficient 230V power. Power outages in this particular village were very frequent and often lengthy. Therefore, the client required extra security in case the batteries depleted before power was restored.

The contractor installed the self-start Generator System and linked it to the Victron Quattro Inverter. They also installed two Newton NP750 high-performance pumps.
