On March 31st, 2022, the British Standards Institution released the new British Standard for waterproofing, giving everyone access to the updated version, BS 8102:2022. The newly titled Standard is the Code of Practice for the “Protection of Below Ground Structures Against Water Ingress” and includes a wide number of revisions and updates to the previous 2009 version.

In order to help educate construction professionals on the most important updates to the 2022 version of the Standard, Newton has created a new CPD titled “Waterproofing Design Strategies to the New British Standard 8102:2022”. This RIBA-approved seminar qualifies for double points and forms part of the core curriculum.

The new seminar directly replaces our previous RIBA-approved CPD on “Structural Waterproofing Design Strategies to BS 8102:2009”. This was our most popular CPD with architects, surveyors, designers and contractors alike.

The CPD session consists of a 45-minute seminar plus an engaging Q&A session. The flexible training can be delivered in a format which best suits your team’s needs. This includes either at your office, as an online webinar, or at our training facilities in Tonbridge, Kent, or Leeds.

As well as an explanation of the updates to the new 2022 version of the British Standard, the presentation provides an overview of the modern methods available for protecting below-ground structures from water, including:
• The different forms of structural waterproofing systems in the market and how to achieve the environmental grades outlined within BS 8102:2022
• A focus on how combination waterproofing systems are specified in below-ground structures in order to achieve the desired environment

Our newly updated 2022 CPD is now available for anyone looking to stay informed with the latest standards! To book any of our RIBA-approved seminars, fill in the form below, or email us directly at training@newtonwaterproofing.co.uk.
