A New CSSW Qualification in the Team
We are pleased to announce that Newton Business Development Manager Steve has successfully achieved his CSSW qualification after months of exams, revision, and hard work! 
Nationally recognised, the Certified Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing (CSSW) qualification is a qualification for individuals who are specifically involved in diagnosing defects connected to water entering structures below ground level, and who recommend design solutions. In the UK construction industry, it is the ‘benchmark’ for professionals specialising in structural waterproofing.
Newtonite Steve undertook the challenging exams with the Property Care Association, who provided all of the information and examination preparation needed in order to pass.
To achieve the qualification, Steve had to pass three exams, including:
- the CSSW written exam
- the Legal and Health and Safety written exam
- and an in-person interview with two examiners
The whole process requires a detailed level of knowledge, reading, and practical experience. However, Steve passed all of the stages and exams with flying colours!
The CSSW qualification means that Steve will now be joining the rest of our experienced Newtonites who also proudly hold the qualification within our Technical and Commercial teams.
We are proud to now have nine CSSW qualifications at Newton, with decades of waterproofing experience between them, both in contracting and in supply. Our expertise also extends to two Certificated Surveyors in Remedial Treatments (CSRT).
We gladly support many members of staff through their CSSW qualifications, delivering expertise and recognition for them, and ensuring our Technical and Commercial teams are as knowledgeable as possible.
