BS 8102:2022 the British Standard for Waterproofing
The British Standard 8102:2022 Code of Practice for Protection of Below Ground Structures Against Water From the Ground is the main design guide for structural waterproofing in the UK.
Newton System 500 is a maintainable system, so complies with BS 8102 requirements. BS 8102 also specifies that “a waterproofing specialist should be included as part of the design team so that an integrated waterproofing is created”.
Therefore it is our recommendation that the Newton CDM System is installed by a Newton Specialist Basement Contractor (NSBC).
What does a sump pump actually do?
A sump pump is a pump used to remove water that has accumulated in a sump basin, commonly found in the basement of homes. The pump is typically installed in the lowest part of the basement, or in a crawlspace, and pumps the water out of the home and away from the foundation.
Where do sump pumps drain to?
Sump pumps typically drain to a dry well, pond, or garden drain. Take care the drain is away from the home so the water will not end up back in the same place.
