Newton DampSafe System

The Newton DampSafe System comprises of a range of different damp proofing products that can combat damp and protect your internal spaces from unwanted moisture in a number of different ways, including:

  • Isolating internal floors from moisture
  • Protecting structural elements of your building from damp in the ground
  • Preventing the occurence of damp as a result of internal condensation
  • Protecting porous external walls from penetrating damp

The products in the DampSafe System include flooring and tiling membranes, physical DPCs (damp proof courses), physical and liquid DPMs (damp proof membranes), and liquid-applied wall coatings.

Typical Applications

Whilst the variety of products in the DampSafe System mean there are numerous scenarios in which they can be used to protect against damp, some of the most common applications include:

    • Protecting flooring from damp concrete, or internal spaces from contaminated floors
    • As the flooring membrane within the Newton CDM System or the Newtonite System
    • Decoupling tiled floors from substrates
    • As loose-laid DPMs below ground-bearing concrete slabs and rafts
    • Providing horizontal, vertical and stepped damp proof courses
    • As slip membranes, screeding membranes or curing membranes
    • Priming of damp, non-porous concrete and screeds to provide a DPM and vapour barrier
    • Preventing condensation and mould on cold internal surfaces
    • Making external walls repellent to water from wind-driven rain

Flooring & Tiling Membranes

DampSafe 601 SlimLine

  • Flat, loose-laid and high grade flooring membrane
  • Isolates moisture-sensitive flooring from damp concrete
  • Can be installed as soon as concrete is walkable
  • Also capable as a high-load DPC

DampSafe 603

  • 3mm deep, loose-laid flooring membrane
  • Suitable for use above new and existing floors
  • Allows the floor below to dry out whilst protecting against damp
  • Does not transfer substrate movement to the floor above

DampSafe 603 Tile D-Mat

  • 3mm decoupling mat for tiling floors
  • Isolates tiled floors from cracking or movement in the substrate
  • Relieves compressive stress from specific points on the floor
  • Adds only 3mm to the floor finishes

DPCs and DPMs

DampSafe 802-DPM

  • 1200 gauge, 100% recycled DPM
  • Suitable as a DPM, vapour barrier, slip membrane, screeding membrane or curing membrane
  • Can be sealed to DampSafe 809-HP DPC to extend the damp proofing through walls

DampSafe-809-HP-DPC

  • High-performance physical damp proof course
  • Suitable for horizontal, vertical and stepped damp proof courses
  • Extremely tough and durable
  • Complete system includes cloaks and accessories

Epoxy DPM

  • Damp-tolerable epoxy DPM
  • High-bond membrane provides a barrier to vapour
  • Easy to apply by brush or roller
  • Allows for the speedy application of NewCoat 701-HB

Liquid Applied Wall Coatings

Diasen C.W.C. Stop Condense

  • Anti-mould and anti-condensation paint
  • Raises the temperature of surfaces to prevent the formation of condensation and mould
  • Quick and easy to apply by brush or roller

Diasen BKK

  • Water repellent treatment for exposed walls, to protect against wind-driven rain and frost
  • Increases the thermal efficiency of the wall
  • High resistance to weathering/UV
