Liquid Waterproofing Membranes

Our liquid waterproofing membrane range covers every substrate and application. The options span from flexible liquid rubber systems to durable cementitious coatings. Each solution suits both retained structures and covered and exposed decks. Alongside our membranes, we also supply collomix mixing equipment and flexible construction joint waterproofing products.

In the UK’s rapidly changing climate, reliable moisture protection is crucial for both residential and commercial buildings. Liquid waterproofing membranes provide long-lasting defence against water ingress. Whether you manage leisure centres, office buildings, or industrial facilities, our liquid membrane range provides a dependable and versatile waterproofing option.

Understanding Liquid Waterproofing Membranes

Liquid waterproofing—often called liquid membranes or liquid rubber—uses modern chemistry to protect structures from water. Unlike sheet membranes, liquid systems create a seamless coating that bonds to a wide range of substrates, including concrete, masonry, plywood, and existing bitumen.

Their versatility makes them ideal for roofs, balconies, foundation walls, and internal flooring. Once applied, the coating forms a flexible, continuous barrier that prevents water ingress while still allowing vapour to escape. This reduces trapped moisture and helps protect the structure over the long term.

Advantages of Liquid Waterproofing Membranes

Liquid membranes offer several key advantages over traditional waterproofing methods. To begin with, they are simple to apply. Installers can use rollers, brushes, or spray equipment to create a fast and efficient coating. As a result, projects move quickly and labour costs often fall. Additionally, liquid membranes offer seamless protection. Because there are no joints, there are fewer weak points where water could penetrate. Furthermore, they adapt well to complex shapes, detailing, and irregular surfaces, which ensures full coverage even in difficult areas.

High-quality liquid membranes also offer excellent durability. In fact, many systems deliver 25+ years of performance when they are correctly applied and maintained. Although the initial cost may be higher than that of basic alternatives, the long-term reliability and reduced maintenance make liquid systems a smart, cost-effective investment.

Our Range of Liquid Waterproofing Membranes

  • Effective Water Sealing – Prevents water ingress through construction and movement joints in concrete structures.
  • Durable & Flexible – High-performance PVC formula ensures longevity and adaptability to structural movements.
  • Versatile Application – Suitable for both water-retaining and water-resisting structures.

HydroTank XTCB and HydroTank XTRS are traditional, cast in-situ PVC WaterStops, designed to provide a watertight seal to prevent water passing through construction and movement joints of concrete structures. HydroTank XTCB is installed to the centre of the concrete section of the joint and HydroTank XTRS is applied to the external face of the joint.

The waterstops and their ancillaries are extruded from a high-performance PVC formula which has excellent flexibility and longevity. The multi-rib profile provides a torturous path to prevent the passage of water through joints when concrete is correctly placed and compacted.

HydroTank XTCB

The XTCB profile is specifically developed to be placed centrally within concrete wall and floor joints, and includes an eyelet edge flange which enables wiring and positioning to the surrounding reinforcement. Placed centrally within the joint, the XTCB is able to withstand water pressure from either side, making them suitable for both water retaining and water resting structures. The XTCB also has a central bulb to accommodate the movement in expansion joints and the support of the joint filler board.

HydroTank XTRS

The XTRS profile is specifically developed to seal joints in concrete at the external surface which protects the reinforcing steel against corrosion attack and provides a totally watertight seal. The central bulb allows movement to be accommodated in expansion joints and also provides an area to support expansion joint filler boards. The XTRS incorporates a nailing flanged edge to ensure a secure fixing that resists tearing.

When used in walls, externally placed waterstops will only resist water pressure from the face to which they are fixed. When used below floor slabs, where the waterstop is supported by the building concrete or when placed in vertical situations against permanent concrete shuttering, externally placed waterstops will resist water pressure from either face.

In the ever-changing climate in Warwickshire, protecting residential or commercial properties from water damage is crucial. Liquid waterproofing membranes have emerged as an excellent choice for businesses seeking reliable and long-lasting protection against moisture ingress. Whether you’re managing leisure centres, office buildings, or industrial facilities, our range of liquid membranes offers the perfect solution for your waterproofing needs.

Understanding liquid waterproofing membrane

Liquid waterproofing, also known as liquid membrane or liquid rubber, is a cutting-edge technology designed to provide superior protection against water and moisture. Unlike traditional sheet membranes, liquid waterproofing offers seamless coverage and can be applied to various substrates, including concrete, masonry, plywood, and even existing bitumen surfaces.

The versatility of liquid waterproofing membranes makes them an ideal choice for a variety of applications, from roofing and balconies to foundation walls and flooring. These innovative coatings form a continuous, flexible barrier that not only prevents water ingress but also allows for vapour transmission, ensuring that trapped moisture can escape and reducing the risk of long-term damage.

The advantages of liquid waterproofing membranes for Warwickshire businesses

Liquid waterproofing membranes offer several significant advantages for protecting commercial properties in Warwickshire compared to traditional waterproofing methods. One of the key benefits is their ease of application, as they can be applied using a roller, brush, or spray equipment, allowing for quick and efficient installation. This minimises disruptions to business operations and helps reduce labour costs. Additionally, liquid membranes provide seamless coverage by forming a continuous, joint-free surface, eliminating potential weak points where water could penetrate.

Their versatility is another strength, as liquid membranes can be applied to complex shapes and intricate details, ensuring thorough protection even in challenging areas. Furthermore, high-quality liquid waterproofing membranes are known for their durability, with many products offering a lifespan of at least 25 years or more when properly maintained. Although the initial investment may be higher than some traditional methods, the long-term durability and reduced maintenance costs make liquid waterproofing a cost-effective solution for businesses in Warwickshire.

The advantages of liquid waterproofing membranes for Cheltenham businesses

Liquid waterproofing membranes offer several substantial advantages for safeguarding commercial properties in Cheltenham compared to traditional waterproofing methods. One of the primary benefits is their ease of application, as they can be applied using a roller, brush, or spray equipment, allowing for quick and efficient installation. This minimises disruptions to business operations and helps reduce labour costs. Additionally, liquid membranes provide seamless coverage by forming a continuous, joint-free surface, eliminating potential weak points where water could penetrate.

Their versatility is another strength, as liquid membranes can be applied to complex shapes and intricate details, ensuring thorough protection even in difficult areas. Furthermore, high-quality liquid waterproofing membranes are noted for their durability, with many products offering a lifespan of at least 25 years or more when properly maintained. Although the initial investment may be higher than some traditional methods, the long-term durability and reduced maintenance costs make liquid waterproofing a cost-effective solution for businesses in Cheltenham.
